New Holland square balers are a familiar sight at Mackintosh Farms, having run three machines over the last 10 years. With their latest BB1290 model arriving last summer,
Fraser Mackintosh tells us why they pick New Holland Balers every time.

Fraser explains ‘Bale size, shape and density is vital to our feed brand for selling and transporting, we find the New Holland 120x90 bale the ideal size for transportation
and optimum use”.

Continuing, he says “the BB1290 has a fantastic output rate and the longer bale chamber produces a much better shaped bale. The Pick-up rate vastly improves overall efficiency and ease of operation. The added bonus of loop master technology is a real benefit to our business, producing perfect bales with no offcuts of twine into the hay. Ideal for selling on with no defects.”

Working in a farming partnership with his father, Mackintosh Farms at Mains of Buthlaw have 5 staff members and grow a mixture of cereals, oil seed rape and 600
